November 21, 2008 -- President Bush has signed legislation that extends unemployment compensation from 13 weeks to 20 weeks.
Congress OKs Extension of Unemployment Benefits
November 21, 2008 -- The U.S. Congress has approved legislation that would extend unemployment benefits for 7 additional weeks and for 13 additional weeks in states with unemployment rates above 6 percent.
Employees or Contractors? A Cautionary Tale
November 20, 2008 -- Once upon a time, a health insurer designated all its salespeople as independent contractors--a practice it said is typical in the insurance industry. But a group of 14 former sales managers, whose job title had been "sales leader," sued for overtime pay.
