  • FLSA Question

According to the FLSA, there are various exemptions to non-exempt employees getting overtime. Such examples include:

Outside buyers of poultry and dairy products

    Agricultural employees

    Live-in domestic workers

    and.....

    Movie theater employees

I had to do a double take here. The teens who give me my popcorn and M&Ms at the movie theater aren't subject to overtime? I've been doing some research on this and I cannot find a specific reason why they are not allowed overtime, by law. I know companies will probably pay them overtime anyway, but I was stunned to see that they are not lawfully obligated to do so. Anyone know why? Thoughts? Comments?

Homeworkers making wreaths - MW, OT & CL (exempt from OT, Child Labor and Minimum Wage)

This is my favorite!!! Is there a powerful wreath-making lobby that has escaped my notice? WWA (Wreath Workers of America)?
