I just read an article from the Washington Post indicating that 3 women will soon hold the top positions in the largest labor union--a crack in the glass ceiling! I'm wondering how everyone thinks women in these key positions will affect the labor movement, especially in a Democratic administration.

I think the employee free choice act passing under a Democratic congress with a Democratic president will have much more far reaching consequences for labor law than the gender of the leaders of any union (or president).

I agree, if the Free Choice Act or some version of it becomes law it will have far more impact on employers. But, don't underestimate the power of women leaders!!!  I'm encouraged by the roles women are taking in politics, unions, corporations, etc. We need to shatter the glass ceiling!
