Time magazine just announced Putin as its Person of the Year for 2007. I'm surprised it wasn't Al Gore. He came in as runner up.

I wouldn't of picked Putin for Person of the Year, but I do prefer someone who is hauling the largest country in the world out of an economic quagmire to someone who scared the world with pop science.

Gore being picked Person of the Year would accomplish nothing more than give more credibility to his “Inconvenient (un)Truth!” Thank you Time!

Just curious, but are you are arguing the science or the facts? The fact is that the ice caps are mentling and oceans are rising, saw it for myself this fall in Puerto Rico, and that there are man-made chemicals, whose interaction in the atmosphere is not controllable with current technology. I am glad Mr. Gore won the Peace prize because I believe, as the Nobel committee does, that the largest threat to the peace of the planet is war over resources. We've only just begun the struggle over water rights here in the US. Watch and see. The world in 50 years will be vastly different from the one have now. I am extremely glad to be working in the environmental field where I at least have a very small voice in encouraging corporations to think about global warming, reduced availability of petroleum and alternative energy technologies.
