This site lists all the training requirements for each section (industrial, construction, maritime, etc.) You can pick out the areas that apply to you and see what it says about training and retraining. There are not as many required annual training requirements as most people think. Take the Hazard Communication standard. It has initial training and then only if a new product comes in to the work area that the employees are unfamiliar with or employees do not remember what they were trained on.
I would suggest, no matter what the standard states, that you retrain or re-discuss what ever might affect the employee. I’m sure you have some employees that need to be retrained daily on some subjects. You know, that employee that daily needs to be reminded to put on their safety glasses!!
Remember to document any and all training done. This helps to back your case in case OSHA asks or in case you have to fire an employee for disobeying safety rules.
