I am wonder if any one knows of or uses a scanner for inspecting equipment etc.?

If so what do you use, or where would I go to get something like this?

We have inspection sheets with the tool number (or equipment number) written at the top and keep a file.  If you're interested in one, though, follow the following links:

    Barcodes Inc.

    Tiger Direct

I've never used one, but I'm thinking it would automatically create a spreadsheet with the data scanned when you hook it up to a computer.  For example:  We have an air monitor that records a set amount of time.  I plug it into the computer and it tells me what time which gas was detected at what concentrations.

another company is infochip; A few companys are using them for inspecting lifting devices. Crosby uses them on a lot of there parts.  You can use this equipment to inspect and track just about anything you can put an RFID chip on.
