  • OSHA standards pertaining to Chain Hoists

Dealing with construction, for the record.

I've found several standards on wire rope hoists, but nothing for a chain hoist.  Are there any direct regulations that would apply to the use of these?

    Justin,

Try 1910.179. You'll probably need to cull out what is not applicable. There may also be an ANSI/ASME standard. The best source operational instructions and inspection criteria is normally the owners manual.

I managed to dig up some on ยง1926.251.  OSHA references to ANSI standards throughout the standard, but I've yet to look through them.  Time is against me.  Tongue Tied
