    Q. Can Pedestrians and AGVs operate within the same aisle?

Having reviewed 1910.178, as well as, ANSI/ITSDF B56.5-2012 (not adopted by OSHA), I cannot find any direct prohibition of AGV (with the needed controls and safeties) sharing aisles with production and/or pedestrian aisles (with the appropriate training and awareness).

Does anyone know of another regulatory reference (beyond 5a1) stating they cannot?
