Does anyone have any ideas for a Safety Art Contest for kids to get them involved with Safety?

 

The following are the basics for this tweeck to your needs.

 

Seperate kids into groups

 

5 and under

6-9

10 -13

13 -15

 

offer to all the kids of your employees to draw a picture of something safety related work or home.  Every child who submits something gets a prize of some kind.  most companies have the ability to get trinkets of some kind, get something appropriate for the age group.

Then have the safety committee rank them 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

The winners in each group get walmart cards of whatever denomination you can.  All drawing should be posted in the lunch room or other employee gathering place.

 

This is something I have done in the past and worked pretty good. 

 

 

In our Facility we did a Children Calendar.  Where parents we allowed to pick up a white blank form from the safety office and they brought it home to there child and ask them to draw a picture of something safe.  You would not believe the pictures we recieved and the preception of some of them.  For example

Don't play around pools,  What to do when the Fire Truck arrives,  Don't take someone elses medicine,  Don't play with Chemicals,  Mr. Yuk,  Driving and using cellphones,  Escape routes in the home.  Its unlimited .
