  • New OSHA PPE Standard

I've heard a little talk about it and don't have the time (at the moment) to look up all the details.  Anyone have a quick summary in layman's terms?  Job foremen and superintendents will need to read this as well and some aren't too hot with legal speak.

    Justin,

As you know, in the PPE sections OSHA references various ANSI standards from years past (typically 20+ years past). They've updated 1910.6 and the various sections to include the last couple versions of the standards. If your PPE is new or fairly new, you should be in good shape.

I figured as much.  We issue brand new PPE to all employees who go to the field.  From what I could gather, older PPE needs to be tested to make sure it can protect the wearer.
