  • Securing clients

    Hello All,

I am a certified safety professional just starting my company and I am trying to convince potential clients to contract me to administer and manage a safety program for them especially since they do not already have one in place. Any ideas on the best way to convince the companies (manufacturing firms) that this is a vital element to have for their business? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

Just starting out, I would be advertising to the companies you want to work with. (construction, general industry, large, small)  Pick up the phone and call the safety directors, and see what they may have a need for.  Large companies are harder to get in to because most have safety professionals already on staff, but they also have deeper pockets, so once you’re in your in for the long haul.  After you have a few clients it is up to you to ensure that you meet and exceed their expectations.  Your reputation will start to build throughout other companies by word of mouth and they will start calling you asking for help.  When this starts to happen its clear sailing, but make sure you have the answers when asked or at lest return the information they are asking in a timely manner.  I hate it when someone tells me they will get right back with me and a month later they think I have forgotten, and ask if I need anything.  Hope some of this helps.
