  • Near miss tracking software

Somewhere i heard that there are a few software programs out there in excel that allow you to track near misses. They mentioned features like action item tracking, due dates, multiple factor reporting, etc.  Anybody have any leads on where or how i could get my hands on such a piece of software - it would sure make the whole concept of near miss tracking a lot easier!

The near miss software that Jean describes sounds pretty interesting.   I have seen one that tracks  frequency, incident, and severity rate, but not some of the other features that Jean describes. If anyone has such a home grown program on near miss reporting i would sure like to see it.

Folks, we don't want this Forum thread to get too commercial.  In the interest of full disclosure I will list a few resources i found on the web:

BLR has 2 products that might help, although they are primarly designed for accidents that have happened. They could probably be used for near miss tracking though:
    - Illness and Injury Tracker   - http://www.blr.com/product.cfm/product/10004700/funcode/WI05
    - My Safety Manager - an optional upgrade to Safety.BLR.com membership
    https://www.blr.com/trial/lpi_dynamic/mySafetyManager.aspx?product=53100100

ESS Compliance Suites shows up in Google with a product on this topic
    http://www.ess-home.com/mc/csnscozarks/

    - Try  this site - Fast Tracking looks interesting
    http://www.equalitymanagement.net/Incident.htm

    - I have also heard reports that Marsh (the insurance broker) has an excellent product for their clients

    - Lastly -  Some safety professionals have built their own near miss tracking software programs. Anybody have one they would like to share, or colloborate with BLR on publishing it?

    More ideas from Forum members....
