I am helping in the preparation of an impact statement (as required under SEQRA), and have been encountering some information that climate change may require consideration in our draft EIS. Does anyone know if this is a new requirement? I read that NYDOT has been requiring GHG analysis for a few years, but I don't know whether other agencies are following DOT's lead.

Even if it's not a requirement, does anyone have any experience including a climate change analysis in an EIS? I haven't before, but I was wondering if I should consider doing it.
