Just when I think I am doing something good for the environment, I hear that my so-called "green" strategy is just as harmful as not doing anything at all (in the past for me - the prius).
Now I read that the production of solar panels produces large amounts of lethal hazardous wastes (silicon tetrachloride) where most panels are manufactured - China. I am currently about halfway into the process of putting solar panels on my home, and it worries me that my project has resulted in more pollution.
Does anyone know what I should look for when buying solar panels so I can try to buy ones that are produced ecologically? Any replacement for this kind of technology?
