I have a 300 gallon above ground diesel storage tank being installed next to a transformer, large walk-in freezer, generator, and all of this is within 10 feet of one of my administrative buildings. I have been looking in 1910.106 for any problem but I am not finding anything regulatory that shows a distance these items need to be away from each other. I also have a hazardous waste facility 40 feet away. Would this be covered under OSHA or NFPA? Any help would be appreciated.

    bdarnell,

I can't think of any regulatory issues. Check NFPA 30, Flammable & Combustible Liquids code, for fire issues. Two thoughts though. First, contact your fire marshall and see if he has any issues with the configuration. Second, ask yourself the question "Will the failure of any one of these items be made worse by the presence of any of others?" If yes, you'll want to rethink the configuration.

Also, is this a hazardous watse facility (e.g. TSDF) or hazardous waste accumulation area?
