I've heard about "smart grid technology" which allows consumers to monitor energy usage in real-time and carefully control the operations of heating systems and appliances. Has anyone ever seen this in action? From what I've read, it seems like the city of Amsterdam is having some success and that there are plans to install in Denver. Does anyone know the costs? My company has various locations, and this technology sounds interesting from an energy efficiency standpoint (having employees see their energy usage in real time).
