  • Wastewater – Ohio Certified Operator

I work for a manufacturing facility that operates a wastewater pretreatment system for industrial wastewater discharges to the sanitary sewer.  The system is permitted and we monitor pH and various chemical concentrations and report to the City on a quarterly basis.

Would a system like this require a Certified Operator?  The regulations appear to be for public/government systems and wastewater treatment facilities, but there is a section in our dechlorination system DMR for a Certified Operator signature and we’ve always left this section blank.  The reports have always been accepted and we’ve never had any questions or comments about it from regulators, but we aren’t sure if this is applicable to us or why the section is in the report.
