I found that the Chesapeake Region Safety Council has been very helpful in providing many resources in accident investigation and prevention programs. Since the Western Pa. We have found that having a reward for a section/department in the form of a catered meal/lunch seems to work very well. This allows everyone to share in the good safety effort. Like any program, a safety incentive program needs a lot of attention to assusre that no one has "swept under the carpet" any "minor" issues or near-miss.

We usually use an ABC type of fire extinguisher as it is the best in most types of fires. In areas that require specialized fire extinguishment, I would suggest contacting a local fire company to assist in identifying hazards at your workplace where they could suggest different types of extinguishment for the application found.
